Session Summary

Join us for a complete update of 2026 legislative issues impacting Medicaid Reimbursement, best practices to prepare for the 2027 rate rebasing, and a review of the new FNHURS rule. We will discuss how to increase your rates through quality management and potential "quality potholes" to avoid. We will also look at the most recent updates to the FNHURS rule and how to avoid new penalties and fines for noncompliance.

About the Presenter

Lorne has 30 years of accounting experience in senior housing and health insurance. Lorne?s focus at Forvis Mazars is on reimbursement consulting, rate analyses, cost report preparation, FNHURS reporting, cost report audits, and appeals. Lorne also handles financial statement projections, prospective financial analyses for Florida licensure requirements, and Certificate of Need financial forecasts. He is a member of the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) reimbursement committee and legislative committee and a representative for Forvis Mazars as the financial and accounting consultant on the FHCA board of directors. Lorne has presented at numerous training sessions on Florida's Medicaid reimbursement system at various district luncheons, board meetings, and other FHCA events.
