Session Summary
In this session, attendees will play Family Feud and explore the best practices to achieve resident safety. Using adult learning principles, this session will explore how to reduce hospitalizations due to C. Diff, how to reduce adverse drug events and reduce center acquired infections such as MRSA. At the end of the session, attendees will have the skills necessary to identify barriers and opportunities for improvement to ensure resident safety aligns with best practices. The session will review tools and resources for your inter-disciplinary team to use and an implementation plan for quality success.Presenters

About the Presenter
Renee DelMonico is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator who has worked 30 years in LTC in positions such as Business Office Manager, Director of Finance and Regulatory Compliance, Assistant Administrator and 22 years as an Administrator in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, as well as a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Salve Regina University. With a passion for Reiki and making a difference in the lives of the residents, she certified 20 staff members in Reiki where they incorporated a Reiki program which decreased pain in residents, decreased sun downing in Dementia residents, as well as assisted COPD residents with energy conservation. Currently she is the Florida State Quality Manager with Alliant Health Solutions, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization where she collaborates with nursing facilities, hospitals, and community coalitions to improve the outcomes of Medicare Beneficiaries.Julie Kueker
