Session Summary

Evidence-based fall prevention interventions are effective at decreasing falls and fall-related injuries among older adults. This session will review the evidence of various fall prevention systems implemented through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American Nurses Association (ANA) and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Specific examples of innovative evidence-based fall prevention strategies will be discussed.

About the Presenter
Karen is an RN, wound care, long term care & rehab specialist with more than 40 years experience. She has extensive experience as a public speaker, educating clinicians & the post-acute community on a variety of topics. She began her career as a Critical Care Clinical Specialist in major teaching hospitals from Florida to NJ. Since 2013, Karen has worked as the Clinical VP for Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare.
