Continuing Education Sessions
Session 8 | PDPM Case Studies “Learning While in Motion”
Time: 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Type/Topic: Live CE Session
This session is a case study-based learning experience during which the attendees will come to understand key components of the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) and how to manage the changes within their skilled nursing center. Attendees will be proficient describing the components under PDPM and develop a greater understanding of the differences between RUGS IV and PDPM. From accurately identifying ICD-10 dx codes and understanding how the per-diem rate is now created, this session promises to be engaging and insightful. Further, attendees will truly understand that with the new payment model, does not mean a decrease in the level of therapy services. Rather, there is a clear path augmenting therapy services with groups, concurrent and co- treatment. Attendees will leave with the ability to apply what they learn directly into their skilled nursing centers and a notebook to refer to when they find themselves at an impasse.
