He became a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist in 2012 and serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students, offering both a Geriatric and Long-term Care practice site. Cindy?s experience includes education of nursing home personnel, mentoring of nurses and Directors of Nursing, clinical systems and form development, department restructuring, and mock surveys and a comprehensive understanding of State and Federal regulations. Steven has worked on several notable incidents in Central Florida. Steven served as the Planning Section Chief for the Orlando Pulse Night Club Attack, Hurricane Matthew, and Hurricane Irma. Steven was also deployed to the State EOC to support communities in the recovery from Hurricane Michael. Most recently, Steven has served as the Planning Section Chief for the COVID-19 Response in Seminole County, FL, and Unified Incident Commander for Haiti Repatriation efforts. Steven has achieved the Florida Professional Emergency Manager designation through the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association and the Certified Emergency Manager designation through the International Association of Emergency Management. Most recently Steven was a graduate of the National Emergency Management Executive Academy where he joined other leaders in the Emergency Management field from across the nation to discuss high-level policy issues and develop evidence-based solutions to increase the effectiveness of the response to national-level incidents.

Previously, Secretary Harris worked at the Agency from 2005-2021 where she focused on the administration of the Florida Medicaid program, implementing sound policy and quality improvement efforts for millions of Floridians, and serving as lead negotiator for the multi-billion dollar procurement of the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care program. Prior to returning to the Agency in 2025, she served more than four years as the Secretary of the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Through implementation of key initiatives that promote prevention and resiliency, Florida experienced a decrease in opioid and suicide deaths; improvements in child welfare prevention efforts resulting in fewer youth in foster care and increases in adoptions; and expanded service options for those contending with substance use and mental health disorders.
