Session 51 | Riding the PPS Crazy Train

Session Summary

The Prospective Payment System (PPS) for Medicaid continues to evolve and present both challenges and opportunities to providers for managing their reimbursement potential. This session will focus on the upcoming rebasing process for 2021 rates and what providers can expect from changes due to the 2021 legislative session. Participants will learn how to improve their rates and change their behavior to prepare for new rules that will apply through 2023. Participants will learn the impact of the reduction and eventual elimination of the hold harmless provision and evaluate their current position in relation to a pure PPS environment. Participants will also learn the steps they should take now to ensure they are prepared to compete in the future.
