Session Summary
Many healthcare organizations face challenges related to the technology they utilize. Increased costs, technological inefficiencies, lack of end-user training, continued reliance on manual processes, and cybersecurity are some of the most prevalent challenges. The presenters will show practical actions for organizations to limit the risk and impact of these roadblocks. This session will incorporate a case study to show how optimizing technology and assessing cybersecurity risks can benefit an organization’s operating model and improve patient care.

Ben is a Director of IT Risk & Compliance at Forvis Mazars. He has more than 14 years of experience providing general IT, risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity services to Healthcare clients. Before joining Forvis Mazars, Ben worked for a large health system leading IT projects and key compliance initiatives, including Electronic Medical Record (EMR) implementations and Meaningful Use attestations.

Ray is a director of IT Risk & Compliance at Forvis Mazars. He has more than 18 years of experience providing companies with IT and cyber operations, auditing, and consulting services. Ray brings more than 14 years of public accounting experience, including nine years with Big 4 accounting firms. He also worked at a large healthcare provider as a senior director of information security and interim chief information security officer. Ray is a security and compliance leader with expertise in building world-class teams and delivering security solutions that enable business growth and profitability. He has expertise in leading transformational outcomes by optimizing people, processes, and technologies. Ray has worked with client service engagements serving global and U.S. Fortune 500 companies specializing in Healthcare over internal audit efforts over IT and cyber control design and governance to support multiple regulations. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He is a member of ISACA, Project Management Institute, (ISC)², and Cloud Security Alliance.
