Session Summary
While virtually all skilled nursing providers are scrambling to find new skilled staff, many are harboring uncovered inefficiencies in their workforce operations. These inefficiencies often lead to inflated labor costs, dependency on agency staffing, and overworked staff with a high likelihood of turnover. In this session, the presenter will discuss the common "leaks in the bucket" where centers are suffering financial losses, and how to remedy these challenges.

About the Presenter
Brian Buys joined Smartlinx as Chief Product Officer in June 2024. Before joining Smartlinx, Brian served as Vice President of Product for PointClickCare, the market leader in Electronic Health Record and Care Coordination software for Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Providers as well as Senior-Focused risk-bearing entities. Before joining PointClickCare in 2016, Brian served in several product management and consulting roles across the Health Information Technology and Medical Device segments including Epic Systems, Phillips Respironics, Cardinal Health, Welch Allyn, and Medtronic. A Registered Nurse, Brian started his healthcare-focused career in acute care working in the Neonatal and Pediatric ICU environments across the country before moving into product innovation and product management. Brian holds a BS in Nursing from Calvin University and a Masters in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing Management from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University where he was a W. Arthur Cullman Marketing Fellow and honored as a Weidler Scholar.
